Out in the woods for the last time in the 2010 season with the Huskies, we decided to do some exploring. We've been into these roads occasionally, but not enough to really be familiar with the place. While it was a bit uneasy not knowing exactly where we were or where we'd end up, the roads themselves were quite good, and everything turned out well. And before anyone asks, no, my dad is not wearing a helmet. The reason for this is simple, we accidentally left it in the garage at home, and didn't find out until the next day when we were almost 100 miles from home. Returning to get the helmet would take a minimum of four hours, and with a truck that gets 15mpg, it would also cost a lot of money. Money we don't have. And we weren't about to just write off the last ride of the year completely, either. So, we decided to just keep things extra conservative and it all worked out fine. I don't know about the rest of you out there, but falling down is very rare for us. I've taken more injuries moving boxes around at FedEx for a month, than I have in 12 years of riding. On another note, I think I've managed to vastly decrease the wind-noise from my helmet camera, by simply putting a piece of scotch tape over the microphone hole. It's not perfect, but there's less wind noise and that makes the bike noise come out better.
